The calibre R CHR 27 PS QI is based on the R CH 27 PS QI that was first used in 2011 to power the ref. 5208 – the addition this movement brings to the fore is split-second functionality for the chronograph. This only increases the movement’s thickness by 1.93mm, all thanks to a patented system to separate the split seconds hand from the running of the other chronograph seconds hand. This isolation system’s true genius comes in the fact that it requires almost no energy to hold the split seconds hand in place.

This is something Patek has been offering on a number of its super clone watches for sale for years now, and allows the client to choose whether they want their watch to feel more vintage with the secretive closed caseback or to show off the Patek Philippe Seal finishing of the movement.
It might feel as though I’ve slightly brushed over the instantaneous perpetual calendar or minute repeater functions in this Swiss movements replica watches, but the complexity of the innovations to the chronograph features felt as though they required an article to themselves, while the other features here are nothing terribly new to the Patek catalogue – although that should not detract from their beauty and technicality.
